The Opportunity

We are looking for a Financial Controller to lead our financial and accounting operations. Your role will involve planning, managing, and ensuring our financial activities are aligned with company goals through effective policies and systems. This is a great opportunity to contribute to our business’s success and help shape its financial future.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement strategies to reduce the average Account Receivable duration.
  • Work within our ERP and PSA system to set up billable projects, ensuing accurate and timely invoicing each month.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and systems to enhance the finance function’s efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial reporting systems, accounting procedures, and investment activities.
  • Design and implement financial simulation models to support decision-making.
  • Ensure maximization of financial assets through effective policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
  • Prepare budgets, including schedule establishment, data collection and analysis, and plan recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements by staying updated on legislation, enforcing adherence, and advising the executive team on necessary actions.
  • Protect company assets through the establishment and monitoring of internal controls.
  • Optimize cash management to maximize returns and minimize risks.
  • Manage budget objectives, monitor variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Report critical financial trends to the Executive Team and coordinate financial planning and budgeting processes.
  • Conduct audits to confirm financial status and liaise with external auditors.
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing and monitoring policies and procedures.
  • Prepare financial statements, summaries, cost-benefit analyses, and management reports.
  • Collect, interpret, and report financial data and prepare special reports on trends and information.
  • Complete client invoicing and ensure timely collection of receivables.
  • Manage the Finance inbox and respond to emails efficiently.
  • Support monthly and year-end financial preparation.
  • Collaborate with external bookkeepers and accounting firms.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA Designation an asset
  • 3-5 years’ experience in accounting/finance
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements
